The summer heat has begun blazing at 104 F in Nuevo Laredo, MX, the city between the United States and Mexico, where GONTORs Corporate office lies. Our cover story addresses the 3rd Global Conference that took place at the beautiful beaches of Cancun, where the Authorized Economic Operator was discussed. The purpose of the conference was to share experiences and highlight the collaboration between authorities, the private sector, and international organizations in order to promote business competitiveness and global trade security. Another article of great importance that you will find is the Modifications to General Regulations of Foreign Trade for 2016: Approval of Certified Companies and Creating New Certification with different operations.

Another piece featured in the magazine, which includes the collaboration of ISO specialist Julian Barradas, is a general overview of ISO9001-2015 new standards. Gontor is actively preparing for the transition into this new quality standard and is always on the leading edge! Also featured is the management of “Inbonds” and the recommendations for imports into Mexico.

This May in the city of Guadalajara, Western INDEX represented by its President Federico Chavez Dominguez, celebrated its 40th anniversary of continued support and enhancing the Jalisciense industry and its surrounding geographic region. Gontor is an active member and was a participant in such an honorable and prestigious event, which included attendees such as, national and state authorities, national business organizations and leaders in the commercial industrial sector and manufacturers.

In this publication and with great sadness, we mourn the loss of two of our coworkers, who during their years at our company brought happiness and unity to our workforce and their peers: Alfredo Luna and Humberto “Wincho” Gonzalez. Wincho was the nephew of Francisco Gonzalez Torres, the founder of Gontor, and first cousin to Francisco and Carlos Gonzalez Treviño. May they rest in peace and may God welcome them into his kingdom for eternal life in the glorious company of Jesus Christ our Lord.
